Mauldin QuikTrip Opening Delayed
Construction of city's newest convenience store a victim of recent rains.

The QuikTrip currently under construction on West Butler Road is taking shape nicely, but fans of the chain will have to wait a little longer before the gas station and convenience store opens for business.
Thanks to all the recent rains, the store is now scheduled to open in August — about a month later than originally planned, said city Economic Development director John Gardner.
The store had originally been scheduled to open July 18.
The QuikTrip Corp. of Oklahoma is undergoing a major expansion in the Carolinas and the Maudin store is part of that growth, officials said.
The chain has more than 17 stores under construction in North and South Carolina. Its rapid growth in the area has allowed it to hire approximately 400 people so far.
QuikTrip, which currently owns and operates nearly 650 stores in 11 states, is known not only for gasoline and standard convenience store fare, but also an array of fresh-made foods such as sandwiches and wraps.
