Message From the Mayor

Dennis Raines recaps his first three months in office.

From Mauldin Mayor Dennis Raines:

It has been a very busy three months . I would like to personally thank former Mayor, and my friend, Don Godbey for an exceptionally smooth transition. Our first order of business in January was to rearrange our Committee structure in order to concentrate our efforts on Economic Development and getting more businesses and jobs in our City. In the near future we will have . These sites are ready for a business to begin to move dirt and locate here in our City. and we have several other businesses in some form of negotiations ready to open up here in Mauldin.

In cooperation with Greenville County and the tireless efforts of Fire Chief Russell Sapp, we on Holland Road this month and are moving closer to a 2 ISO rating that will hopefully lower insurance premiums for all of our citizens in the city and fire service area. The ISO inspection will be complete by the end of the year.

Our Police Department (Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies) this month which holds all police departments to a higher standard in their operating and training procedures. We congratulate Police Chief Bryan Turner and the entire department on their success.

The is taking shape and the Veterans Memorial is very appropriate in honoring our armed forces. Great shows are coming to the renovated auditorium and the spring will bring even greater performers to the outdoor amphitheater

As you drive down our 276 corridor progress is being made daily as you can see plantings and street lights coming up on both sides of the street. This project is slated to be finished next month and is creating a lot of positive comments from commuters.

In keeping with our city motto "Expect Great Things", there are a lot of great things happening here in our City and you can expect greater things. It is an exciting time to serve as your Mayor. I look forward to working in partnership with our great team of Council members and our dedicated city employees to ensure that we continue to provide the service levels that you are accustomed to receiving.
