Model United Nations Conference – Congratulations to thirty-seven students who were sent as delegates to the State Model United Nations Conference at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC on April 12-13, 2012. The students won awards for having their proposals advanced to the General Assembly, having their proposals advanced to the Plenary Session, Outstanding Proposals, Outstanding Native Attire, and Outstanding Booth at Festival of Nations. Outstanding Statesman awards were given to Varsha Gopal, Hasna Karim, Aleeza Masood, Amanda Teague, & Nikhil Vallabhaneni for their great speaking abilities, debate, and logic skills. 

Book Fair -  The Scholastic Book Fair will be held at Langston beginning Friday, May 11, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM and continuing Monday – Friday, May 14-18, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Speech and Debate Camp - The Summer Speech and Debate Institute is offering a summer camp for rising fifth through eighth grade students at Langston Charter Middle School 1950 Woodruff Rd. Greenville, SC 29607 on July 23, 2012 to July 28, 2012. The camp will meet from 10:00AM – 4:00PM daily, the cost is $70, and students of all experience levels are welcome to attend.  For more information, please visit http://scjflonline.webs.com/summercamp.htm

APEX Adventure Day Camp Program – An exciting day camp program is being offered through Langston this summer. Campers will experience whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and more in the mountains of the Carolinas during one of APEX Adventures' day camp sessions. Five sessions are being offered: June 11-14, June 18-21, June 25-28, July 9-12, July 16-19, and July 30-August 2. The cost for a 4-day long session is $280.00.  and includes transportation, activities, and lunch. A per-day rate is available at $80.00. This camp is open to all area middle schoolers. Summer Science Fun Camps -  Registration is currently underway for two science camps at Langston this summer.  Gross and Messy ($100) is open to all rising 4th –9th graders with a class limit of 20 students. Sessions are offered June 4- 7, 9:00AM-11:00AM and July 11-14, 9:00AM-11:00AM. Paper Rollercoasters ($100) is open to all rising 4th –9th graders with a class limit of 20 students. Sessions are offered June 4 - 7, 1:00PM-3:00PM and June 11-14, 1:00PM-3:00PM.  The camps are open to all area rising fourth – ninth graders. Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night - Tuesday, May 8, is Langston Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A on Woodruff Road from 5pm - 8pm. Mention Langston when you order in the drive thu or dining room and Langston will receive 20% of the  sale. Come out and support Langston!
