Police: Burglars Steal Arsenal of Guns From Mauldin Home
Numerous guns, along with ammo and gold jewelry, stolen.

Burglars hit a Mauldin home on Wednesday, getting away with thousands of dollars worth of guns, ammo and gold jewelry, according to a Mauldin Police incident report.
A small arsenal of firearms —well over a half-dozen rifles, shot guns and at least one handgun — along with an estimated $1,000 worth of ammunition, were stolen sometime on Wednesday from a home on Green Court, the report said.
The unidentified thieves also made off with around $1,000 in miscellaneous gold jewelry, according to the report.

The homeowner said he had come home to find his rear glass door smashed, along with the glass door to his gun cabinet, the report said. All the guns inside the cabinet were reported stolen.
Police called out a K-9 unit to the home and were able to find one of the rifles and some rifle barrel grips along railroad tracks beside the residence, directly behind the Kellet's Korner gas station.

One neighbor said he saw two suspicious males in the vicinity of the house the day of the burglary, but said they ducked into some bushes and disappeared, the report said.
Police said a sweep of the area near the railroad tracks uncovered fairly fresh tire tracks, but no other suspicious objects or activity, the report said.
The case remains under investigation.
