SC Soldier Killed in Afghanistan
Ember Alt of Aiken County killed in air base attack.
A female Army soldier from South Carolina was killed along with three others in an attack at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, the Pentagon said Thursday.
Spc. Ember Alt, 21, of the Beech Island community in Aiken County, died from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked her unit with indirect fire, the Pentagon said.
