Simpsonville Police Need Help Finding A Wanted Man

Germaine Latif Dunlap is wanted in connection with an attempted murder and armed robbery

Simpsonville Police need assistance in locating a man wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery.

According to the release, the police have warrants on Germaine Latif Dunlap after an incident on Aug. 27 at a local wrecker shop.

Police said Dunlap had been pulled over by another agency for a traffic violation around 4:15 a.m. on Aug. 27, which resulted in his vehicle being towed.

A wrecker service from Simpsonville responded to the incident and towed the vehicle to a home in Simpsonville, and also to give Dunlap a ride.

When they arrived at the home, the vehicle would not start so the wrecker driver towed the vehicle to the shop so it could be jumped off, for no additional charge.

Police said the driver walked into the shop and was followed inside by Dunlap, who allegedly then struck the driver with a blunt object in the head, torso, leg, and arms and demanded that the victim give back the money for the tow.

Dunlap then fled the area in the vehicle, but was involved in a traffic accident near the shop, according to police. He fled on foot from the scene.

The victim was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital due to his injuries and is recovering.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating Dunlap. He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 145 pounds and is 17 years of age. He currently has outstanding warrants for attempted murder, armed robbery, and traffic violations.
