Suspect Wanted in Woman's Beating
Incident that sent victim to the hospital took place during a domestic dispute.

A local man is wanted by Mauldin Police after he allegedly beat and injured a woman and assaulted her daughter during a domestic dispute, according to an incident report.
The incident, which took place Feb. 12 at Brookwood Pointe Place apartments, started when the unidentified woman's daughters got into an argument over beauty supplies and accessories, the report said.
After breaking it up, the "exasperated" mother went to her room and got into a verbal altercation with the 23-year-old suspect, whose name and relationship to the woman was redacted from the report. During the spat, the suspect allegedly said he would beat the woman, which prompted her daughter to scream that he better not hit her mother, the report said.
When the suspect allegedly yelled back that he would also beat the child, whose father used to abuse her mother, according to the report, the angered child charged into the room and threw a hairbrush at the suspect. The suspect picked up the brush and threw it at the child, striking her.
The disturbance escalated when the "infuriated" mother yelled at the suspect not to harm her children. The suspect allegedly struck the mother twice with a closed fist in her jaw near her ear, and on the bridge of her nose. The mother said the blows knocked her to the ground and nearly caused her to lose consciousness as blood began to pool around her, according to the report.
After striking the woman, the man quickly fled the scene when one of the daughters ran to the balcony and began screaming for help, the report said.
When a police officer arrived, he reported seeing a bloody towel, remnants of blood on the tile floor, and blood splatter on the walls of the entryway. First responders were called, and the mother was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she received stitches and was treated for a broken nose.
Police have issued arrest warrants against the man for assault and battery, criminal domestic violence and cruelty to a child. As of Friday, however, the man had still not been apprehended, according to a check of police records.
