Taylors Man Arrested at State Baseball Playoff Game With Loaded Gun

Mauldin Police say a 19-year-old Taylors man was arrested on Thursday for possessing a loaded gun on school property. Benjamin Walter Bruns was charged after he was spotted by a resident outside the Boiling Springs-Mauldin state playoff game showing a 38-caliber revolver to a female passenger in his car. 

At the same time, a chorus concert was letting out of the high school auditorium.

The weapon was located after Bruns consented to a search of his vehicle. According to the police report Bruns said he carries the gun for protection for his job at a liquor store.

Bruns has been charged with having a weapon on school property and disturbing schools.

A person was charged with assault and battery at 535 Brookwood Point.

A person was charged with an auto break-in at 108 Creekwood Court.

May 10 

Drug violations occurred at 313 Vine Hill Road.

Two persons were charged with driving under the influence at N. Main Street and Crick Alley.
