Traffic Pattern on Bridges Road to Shift Feb. 1

SCDOT will shift traffic beginning on Feb. 1 and continuing through mid-March in order to continue paving the roadway

On Wednesday night, traffic will shift from Bridges Road South will switch to allow paving to continue.

The traffic will shift to the newly paved portion of the road and will continue in this configuration until mid-March, according to the S.C. Department of Transportation.

The I-385 Widening & Rehabilitation Project is a planned four-phase project that started December 2010. The work is expected to be completed in November.

The project includes widening I-385 to six lanes from north of the I-385/West Georgia Road interchange at Exit 29 to south of the I-385/Woodruff Road interchange at Exit 35, for a total widening length of about five miles. The project also includes repaving I-385 from south of Woodruff Road to south of Roper Mountain Road, Exit 37, resulting in a total project length of about seven miles, according to the SCDOT.
