Two Greenville Men Face Jail on Child Porn Charges

One sentenced to ten years, while the other waits.

Two Greenville men are facing lengthy prison time after being convicted of possessing child pornography. One of the men has already been sentenced.

Craig Allen Myers, 50 was sentenced by Judge G. Ross Anderson, Jr. in federal court in Anderson to 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography.

Federal agents tracked Myers’ location via the IP address he used to visit a website that is frequented by individuals who seek and trade child pornography. Federal agents eventually seized six computers and 26 hard drives that contained thousands of pictures and dozens of videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

31-year-old Alan M. Gardinsky is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty in federal court in Greenville to possession of child pornography.

On April 20, 2011, agents executed the warrant at Gardinsky’s residence and located a computer with 146 files containing child pornography. The files contained multiple videos and images of children under the age of 18 engaged in sexual acts or the lascivious display of the genitals.

The maximum penalty Gardinsky can receive is a fine of $250,000 and/or imprisonment for 10 years, plus a special assessment of $100.
