Vote for 'Starship' in Luckiest Pet Contest

Your vote for this Upstate pooch could win Greenville County Animal Care $5,500.

Starship, perhaps better known as the "High Chair Dog" started her life in dire straits. But now her inspiring story has put her in the running for PetFinder's "America's Luckiest Pet."

Abandoned and starving for the first 3 weeks of her life, Starship was diagnosed with megaesophagus, a condition that requires her to eat upright using a special high chair.

She needs to eat 4-5 times daily and must be watched while eating and drinking. She must do both in her chair and sit in the high chair for 30 minutes after meals, according to this report by WSPA.

After seeing a video about Starship the high chair dog on the Internet, Starship's new family in Rhode Island now provides this special-needs dog with unconditional love, acceptance & healthcare. She is thriving and growing & enjoys playing with her Rottweiler and kitty sisters.

The winner of the lucky pet contest will actually be the lucky charity chosen by the pet's owners. In the case of Starship, her owners have selected Greenville County Animal Care. If Starship wins, the shelter will receive a $5,500 donation
