Wingo Off to Hot Start in California

With Class A Rancho Cucamonga.

Scott Wingo has made quite a splash with his new team. The former Mauldin High and USC star is batting .400 after three games for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League.

Wingo made his debut on Thursday and went 1-for-1 with two walks, a sacrifice and three stolen bases. On Friday, he went 3-for-5, slugging a pair of triples, scoring twice and driving home another run. And on Saturday he walked and scored a run.

Rancho is 2-1 in Wingo's three games, scoring 22 runs in the process, for an average of over seven runs a game. Prior to Wingo's arrival, the Quakes had average just over three runs in their first 14 games.
