Zumbathon, Movie in the Park, Water Fun and More

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Mauldin Patch to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun.

1. Mauldin elementary students may bring their summer math packet to school from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on July 31 to be graded and to receive their prize. On that day they will receive their final math packet, which will be due by the first day of school.

2. The film “The Hobbit” will be shown at 9 p.m. Aug. 1 at Charter Amphitheatre at Heritage Park, 861 S.E. Main St., Simpsonville. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. Concessions and inflatable playgrounds will be available. No alcohol, please.

3. Mauldin Police Department will present a Zumbathon from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Mauldin Sports Center, 10 City Center Drive. The cost is $5 in advance and $10 at the door. 4. Silver Chair fitness classes are held at 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays at Mauldin Sports Center on Butler Road next to the Mauldin Cultural Center. Participants must have a walking pass; wheelchairs are welcome. The Chair Yoga will follow the Silver Chair fitness class. Call 864-335-4875.
