
The Charleston County Coroner confirms that a body found Tuesday off the coast of Mount Pleasant is that of Ronald C. Fowler, a 36-year-old man reported missing after he didn't return from a boating trip.
Fowler's body was autopsied today, but the results are still pending and the manner of death has not been determined.
The body was discovered eight days after Fowler launched his boat from his Mount Pleasant home and never returned. His boat was found overturned about 16 miles off the coast a day later.

A fisherman spotted the remains on Tuesday around 1 p.m. and alerted authorities. South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, along with the Charleston County Sheriff and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the discovery.

Fowler's family told police they were concerned about his state of mind prior to him going missing, according to a police report. Recently unemployed and facing financial troubles, the family said his recent behavior was troublesome.
