Five years ago today nine firefighters from the Charleston area were killed attempting to put out a blaze in the warehouse area of the former Sofa Super Store on Savannah Highway.  In memory of that tragic event Gov. Nikki Haley has asked that all flags in the state are lowered today. On her Facebook page stated the following:    "I have lowered the flags in honor of the Charleston 9 Firefighters who sacrificed their lives. Please say a prayer, and thank all first responders for always taking the call without hesitation. May God Bless you! Thank you to the families for your support of the sacrifices they continue to make for us daily." Also, today in Charleston at 7 p.m.
