Fleeing Man Wrecks Motorcycle

Deputy arrests suspect on reckless driving charge.

A motorcyclist apparently trying to outrun a Charleston County Sheriff's deputy was injured today when he lost control of his speeding bike in Awendaw.

It happened around 1:15 p.m., according to the sheriff's spokesman. Frank Baughn, 32, of North Charleston, faces charges of driving with a suspended license and wreckless driving, according to reports.

Deputies allege that just before the accident, Baughn was speeding on his 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle. When a deputy turned around to stop Baughn, the suspect sped up and got away from the officer.
