Former Councilman's Son Seriously Injured
Nick Collins Jr. recovering following tragic Daniel Island crash.
The son of former Town Councilman Nick Collins is recovering from life-threatening injuries sustained in a horrifying car accident, according to WCBD-TV.
Nick Collins Jr., 26, was injured in a two-part accident off Interstate 526 on Daniel Island on Friday. First, Collins was ejected from a vehicle in which he was a passenger. Then while he was on the pavement waiting for medical care, he was run over by a passing 18-wheeler, the TV station reports.
Collins has made a name for himself as a member in the popular band Fowler's Mustache.

His surival is nothing short of a miracle, the elder Collins says. Nick Collins Sr. served one term on Mount Pleasant Town Council. He is a Realtor and owner of Nick's Hair Salon on Houston Northcutt Boulevard.
