Graphic: Look at all that Rain

Graphic shows incredible rainfall over the last week.

Up to 7 1/2 inches of rain fell over the 24 hours ending on Aug. 29, according to the National Weather Service office in Charleston. It's no surprise, since downtown Charleston was under as much as 3 feet of water Aug. 28.

By comparison, that 24-hour rainfall total was nearly three times as was seen in the first 28 days of the month, according to Weather Service data.

The heavy rain was amplified by Hurricane Isaac, which had offshoot storms from Mexico to South Carolina at one point this week. The storm has reportedly dropped up to 20 inches of rain in Louisiana, which had a direct impact with Isaac.
