Hulk Actor Coming to Cinebarre

Actor Lou Ferrigno appears Friday evening at Mount Pleasant theater.

Lou Ferrigno, famous for his role in the 1978 TV series "The Incredible Hulk," will appear in Mount Pleasant Friday at Cinebarre to promote the release of "The Avengers," a Marvel Comic epic for which Ferrigno provides the voice of the starring character.

Ferrigno appears from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Houston Northcutt theater. "The Avengers" has eight showtimes in 3-D and four showings in standard definition. One 7 p.m. show in regular-D is sold out.

"The Avengers" delivers a super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow.

The cast features Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Ruffalo. Ferrigino said he provides the growl for the Hulk and other voice overs, but Ruffalo portrays Bruce Banner, the Hulk's human ego.

In addition to his famed role as The Hulk, Ferrigno recently appeared in the Donald Trump reality show "The Apprentice." He got his start after capturing the Mr. Universe title in 1973 and again in 1974. After The Incredible Hulk, Ferrigno went on to other musclebound roles, in series such as "Hercules" and "Sinbad of the Seven Seas."
