Mount Pleasant, North Charleston players win big in lottery.

Two Lowcountry lottery players are both $100,000 richer following recent lottery wins, according to the South Carolina Lottery Commission.

A Mount Pleasant man hit a $100,000 jackpot with just a $5 ticket, and the Lottery Commission will pay the income taxes related to the man's earnings, because of the special ticket type he purchased.

He wasn't the only player who it big recently. A North Charleston man recently won $155,000 on a $5 scratch-off ticket while on a trip to a local hair supply store, the lottery commission reports.

Neither individual wished to be identified publicly, but the Mount Pleasant man said he plans to surprise is wife with the winnings when it's deposited into his bank account.

The Mount Pleasant man won his jackpot at the Sunoco No. 2668. The North Charleston winning ticket was purchased at Hair City Supply in the Bi-Lo shopping center on Dorchester Rd. Both ticket sellers earned about $1,500 in commission for the winning tickets.

The odds of winning either jackpot is more than 1 in 500,000, the lottery commission reports.
