Marine Charged with Sex Crime at Park West Pool

Police arrest and charge 19-year-old N.C. man with criminal sexual conduct.

A 19-year-old North Carolina Marine has been arrested and charged with a sexual misconduct following an incident at community pool in Mount Pleasant's Park West neighborhood.

Kevin Guevara Alarcon of Havelock, N.C., is being held in the Charleston County jail on a $50,000 bond, according to court records. He's charged with second-degree criminal sexual misconduct, according to court records.

Police arrested the man after a female victim reported the early Monday morning incident, said police spokesman Maj. Stan Gragg. The victim reported the incident to police several hours after the alleged crime. It happened around 3 a.m. Monday, Gragg said.

Police have not released details about the victim, including victim's age. Alacron's home is near Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Alarcon had not posted the bond and remained in jail, according to court records. Magistrate Linda S. Lombard set the bond at a Tuesday morning hearing.
