Skip ReVille Starts Prison Sentence

Convicted molester starts prison term.

In his 10 years in the South Carolina Lowcountry, Louis "Skip" ReVille hung in elite private school circles and rubbed shoulders with some of Charleston's more well-known families.

On Friday, he woke up to a new identity: Inmate No. 00351235.

ReVille, 33, started his 50-year jail sentence on Thursday when the South Carolina Department of Corrections took the former private school administrator and coach into state custody, according to Live5 News.

He'll undergo evaluation over the next 30 days and then he will head to his permanent home, which could be a maximum security prison. ReVille pleaded guilty Wednesday to molesting 23 young boys over the last decade.

ReVille must serve 85 percent of his jail sentence before he's even eligible for parole. Even if a parole board looks favorably on ReVille's application, at which time he'll be 74 years old, he'll enter a civil committment process that will guage his threat to the public.

ReVille, if he gets parole, will have to demonstrate that he's no longer a harm before he can exit state custody.

But if he does exit prison, he'll enter a five-year supervised release. He'll always be a sex offender and he'll always have to wear electronic monitoring device, the judge said during his sentencing hearing on Wednesday.
