Still No Word From Missing Man
Police re-issue plea for information as search for Ronald C. Fowler Jr. extends into third day.

The search for Ronald C. Fowler Jr., the man missing since Monday, has stretched into its fourth day, and police are now renewing their plea for help from the public.
The 36-year-old Mount Pleasant man told his girlfriend, around noon on Monday, that he planned to travel on his 16-foot Mitzi Skiff to Shem Creek from his Bayview Drive home. When the girlfriend returned home around 1 p.m. that day, Fowler was gone and so was his boat.
The U.S. Coast Guard found the boat capsized on Monday, 16 miles off the coast of Charleston, according to Mount Pleasant police. The search for Fowler in subsequent days has not been fruitful.

Now police are asking the media to distribute information about the missing man all along the East Coast, since Fowler had friends in many places, particularly in North Carolina, police said.
Fowler is apparently an experienced boater and fisherman. On his blog, The Charleston Fishing Guide, he describes his 16 years of experience as a fisherman. He offered charters and posted a handful of photos of himself and others on fishing trips.

Mount Pleasant Police spokesman Capt. Stan Gragg wouldn't comment on the case beyond saying that officers are searching and asking for the public to provide information.
But Fowler has faced a handful of financial troubles in recent years, according to court documents. Fowler was served with foreclosure paperwork on his Bayview Drive home in early March. The waterfront home is listed for sale currently.
The family, speaking through the police department, asked for privacy and declined to speak with reporters about the search.
Anyone with any information in regards to Fowler’s disappearance, is asked to contact the Mount Pleasant Police Department at (843) 884-4176.
