Quick police work on Thursday and the unique quality of an armed robbery suspect's voice helped officers track down two alleged robbers within minutes of the crime.
The attempted robbery went down around 10:30 p.m. behind Menchie's, a frozen yogurt shop located in the Belle Hall Shopping Center, according to a police incident report.
A teenage worker at the shop was taking out trash for the evening when he was apparently attacked from behind, the report states. The victim told officers one man put him in a choke hold and held a knife to his neck as a second suspect approached.

Though the alleged victim couldn't provide a physical description of the suspects, he told officers that one of the robbers sounded like DeVaughn Unique Green, an employee fired from the yogurt shop just a few days before the robbery.
The suspects fled the scene, and no money was taken. The victim said he thought the men were trying to enter the business to commit a robbery.

Officers began patrolling the area and soon heard someone running through the woods near Seacoast Church. They arrested one suspect, Luke Carpenter, 19, on armed robbery charges. He was covered in grass and was breathing heavily the report states.
Officers later spotted a woman leaving Carpenter's home. She said she was headed to pick up Carpenter and another man named DeVaughn. She said Carpenter had called, breathing heavily, needing a ride home.
Officers don't say in their initial reports how they tracked down DeVaughn Green, 19, but arrest records show the teenage suspect was arrested with Carpenter and charged with armed robbery.
