Bats Continue to Plague Fountain Inn Elementary
At least the third time this year that bats have invaded the school.

Bats have again been found at Fountain Inn Elementary, Greenville County Schools spokesman Oby Lyles said Friday.
Lyles said bats were observed entering and exiting the exterior walls of the gym Thursday morning and again at night.
"The access was determined to be where the bats ate through foam sealant between a roof drain and gymβs exterior wall," Lyles said. "No bats have been seen in the building."
Lyles noted that parents had been notified via the automated calling system of the latest invasion, which is at least the third so far this year.
"District personnel were contacted and have been at the school to address this issue," Lyles said. "A pest control company is also advising and providing assistance. A trap is being installed over the access to allow the bats to exit but not to reenter. Β All drains and roof flashing are being checked, resealed or closed using wire and concrete. Additional traps may be installed if needed."
