County Council Says Eggs Are Good Reason to Allow Chickens

According to Clemson Extension agent Danny Howard, eggs are the biggest motivating factor for people to own chickens in Greenville County.

Greenville County Council said that an ordinance allowing chickens in Greenville County neighborhoods would likely face no opposition.

The item is one of the topics for discussion at Tuesday's council meeting.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m.

The ordinance would allow for eight chickens at a single-family home. Roosters would not be allowed, due to noise. Chickens would not be allowed to roam free.
