Four Simpsonville Schools Set for Walk to School Day
The global event emphasizes the need for a safer, healthier lifestyle and a cleaner environment.

Four Simpsonville schools will participate in the annual Walk to School Day Wednesday.
Held on the first Wednesday of every October, Walk to School Day is an internationally recognized day to celebrate the benefits of walking by encouraging schoolchildren to walk and bicycle to school.
Golden Strip Child Development Center, Rudolph Gordon Elementary School, Simpsonville Elementary School and Southside Christian School have registered for walk to school or walk at school initiatives to emphasize the need for a safer, healthier lifestyle and cleaner environment.

Simpsonville Elementary students will walk the track at the school on Wednesday, according to the school website. Each student must have an adult present. Walking will begin at 7:15 a.m. and end at 7:45 a.m.
A Bike to School event is being held at Fountain Inn Elementary School the same day.
