Habitat for Humanity to Hold "House Blessing"

Ceremony will include partners from throughout Simpsonville, Mauldin and the Golden Strip for home being constructed in Fountain Inn.

Members of church and civic groups throughout Simpsonville, Mauldin and Golden Strip will be on hand this Saturday for a pre-construction "house blessing" for a new Habitat home planned for the Boston family in Fountain Inn.

The house blessing will be held at the build site, 202 Havendale Drive in Fountain Inn on Saturday, April 20, 9:00 a.m. The public is invited.

The Habitat for Humanity of Greenville CountyΒ home will be built with the assistance of the Golden Strip Church Coalition, a community and faith group that has built more than 18 homes with Habitat. Β 

Fountain Inn Mayor Gary Long will attend, representing the City of Fountain Inn, which has joined the Coalition for this project. This year’s partners are: Advent United Methodist Church, Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Christ the King Lutheran Church, the City of Β Fountain Inn, First Baptist Church of Mauldin., Fountain Inn First Baptist Church, Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Kemet, Messiah Lutheran Church, Reedy Fork Baptist Church - Simpsonville, Reedy Fork Baptist Church - Greenville, the Rotary Club of Mauldin, Sandy Springs Baptist Church, Simpsonville United Methodist Church, Thrivent Lutheran Builds, and Friends of the Golden Strip Church Coalition.Β 

Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County was founded in 1985. Β With its community, corporate, church, civic and individual donor partners, Habitat has built 306 homes for low-income residents in all areas of Greenville County.
