Obituary: Mary Jane Harrison of Simpsonville

Mary Jane Harrison, 94, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 22, 2013.

Ms. Harrison was born February 18, 1919 in Simpsonville to the late John Hampton Harrison and Maggie Richardson Harrison. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, where she served as a former Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, was a founding member of the Joy Fellowship and attended the Fallaw Sunday School Class. She formerly worked at Kress in downtown Greenville and retired from Belks at McAlister Square.

Surviving is a brother, John William Harrison and wife Margaret of Gray Court; two nephews, David Harrison and wife Nell of Gray Court and Vin Ridgeway and wife Lynn of Simpsonville; two nieces, Jane Harrison Willis and husband Marion of Gray Court and Beth Knupp and husband Bill of Taylors; and several great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Frances H. Ridgeway of Greenville and Margaret H. Coley of Simpsonville.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Unity Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Howard Wimmer and Rev. Larry Ledford. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
