Obituary: Richard Ferguson of Simpsonville

Richard L. Ferguson, 85, widower of Bertha Lee Thackston Ferguson, passed away Thursday March 21, 2013.

Mr. Ferguson was born July 27, 1927 in Greenville, SC to the late George Richard Ferguson and Ruth Creswell Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was a Army veteran and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Sheila Ferguson and granddaughter Bailey; three brothers, David, Randall, and Bruce "Frog" Ferguson. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mozzelle Hamett and Edna Coggins.

Funeral services will be held 2p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Phil Whitt. Burial will follow at Graceland East with military honors. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
