Photos: Sippin in Simpsonville Carries on Despite Rains
Turnout may have been depressed, but spirits remained high at the downtown event.
Wine lovers took to the streets of downtown Simpsonville Saturday night to take part in the fourth Sippin in Simpsonville, to benefit the Main Street Chapter of the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Rain put a severe damper on turnout, said Mark Rodeffer, one of the event's organizers, but shop owners downtown who put out locally produced wines and food for attendees said spirits remained high.
Rodeffer said the main street association will put on another Oktoberfest version of Sippin in Simpsonville downtown this fall.
Wine selections last night came from City Scape, Victoria Falls, and Enoree River wineries. Downtown businesses taking part included: Boutique of Dreams, Ice Cream Station, Southern Galleries, Thai Cuisine, Eye Candy, Redline Loft, A Tripp in Time, Event Décor & More, Me Salon & Day Spa, Shear Envy, United Hospice, SAFI, P. Simpsons, and the Center for Community Services.
