Simpsonville Students Claim Academic Awards

Five local students honored at their universities.

The following Simpsonville residents recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines:

Philip Davis of Simpsonville initiated at Arizona State University

Emily Cinquemani of Simpsonville initiated at Elon University

Additionally, a pair of Simpsonville students recently were honored by the Clemson University College of Business and Behavioral Science at its annual awards ceremony.

Amber Nicole Davis of Simpsonville, a graduate student majoring in Accounting received the The Federation of Schools of Accountancy Award. She is the daughter ofWanda and Mark Alexander.

Christopher Michael Praktish of Simpsonville, a senior majoring in Economics and Political Science, received the Marian L. Harris Award for Excellence in Economics. He is the son of Thomas and Sheryl Praktish.

And, finally, Katherine Culbreath was one of 75 Wake Forest University students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Phi Beta Kappa celebrates and advocates excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. Its campus chapters invite for induction the most outstanding arts and sciences students at America's leading colleges and universities.
