Update: Sheriff's Office Re-Opens After Bomb Threat

UPDATE (10 A.M.): Dorchester County Law Enforcement Center has re-opened following a morning bomb threat that forced the complex to be evacuated.

A woman threatened to have an explosive device inside her vehicle, according to authorities. That vehicle has since been checked and removed, according to Sheriff's spokesman Major John Garrison.

The Sheriff’s Office and court offices are now open.

Dorchester County Law Enforcement Center has been shut down Friday morning due to a bomb threat.

A woman came into the Sheriff's Office at around 7:30 a.m., allegedly claiming there was an explosive device in her vehicle, Sheriff Office PIO Maj. John Garrison said.

SLED is on the scene and a robot will be on the way to evaluate the threat. Garrison saidΒ Deming Way may be shut down during evaluation, but that Highway 78 may remain clear.Β 

The Sheriff's Office is expected to reopen around 10 a.m.
