Clements Ferry Software Co. Creates 310 Jobs
$11-million investment will bring jobs over the next four years.

SPARC, a provider of information technology services located on Clements Ferry Road, announced plans this week to expand its existing facility and operations in Berkeley County. The more than $11 million investment is expected to generate 310 new jobs over the next four years.
βOur award-winning culture has filled our current building to capacity, so weβre excited to build a full campus for our team,β said Eric Bowman, SPARC CEO. βThe new multi-building environment will not only deliver a great place to do business for our team, partners, and customers, but enable us to create over 300 new technology and professional jobs here in the Lowcountry.β

SPARC is in the process of expanding and consolidating its operations on one campus. The company is purchasing the building it currently operates in, located at 2387 Clements Ferry Road, and intends to construct an additional building, giving the company at least 80,000 square feet of space. Construction is expected to begin in January and the new building will be in use in the fourth quarter of 2013.

The new facilities will include greater amenities and better meeting space, as well as a new auditorium. The company expects the new facilities will also offer the potential for future expansion.

Todayβs announcement is the second one weβve had in the information technology sector in the Lowcountry in the past two weeks. Investments like this showcase the diversity of South Carolinaβs and that our state is just right for these firms,β said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
