Dorchester Two Teachers to Receive Raises

Dorchester County School District Two will distribute raises to teachers and staff.

Dorchester Two employees could see as much as a four percent raise as early as July, the Journal Scene reported.

The announcement came during Monday's regular meeting of the school board.

(District Chief Financial Officer Allyson) Duke reported to the board that the S.C. General Assembly is still debating the final state budget, however, the legislature is recommending a two percent increase for teachers statewide, which will be added to an increase already approved by the board for the 2012-2013 budget.

“What this basically means is that everyone will be receiving a three percent increase while teachers with a step will get a four percent increase,” she said. “The only question is when we will actually be able to implement it.”
