Elementary Student Finds Bullets on Bus
No weapons found after Summerville High placed on lockdown Thursday.

Update 7:15 a.m. Dec. 21:Β As the incident was investigated Thursday, the principal at Summerville Elementary met again with the students that rode that bus where the ammunition was found. One of those students admitted to having the bullets on the bus, according to the district.Β The Summerville Police questioned the student and filed an incident report. The student will be recommended for disciplinary action.

A Summerville Elementary School student found two bullets at the back of a bus on the way to school Thursday morning β sparking a school lockdown and search at another school the bus previously served.

The bus had transported Summerville High students earlier in the morning, and District County School District Two officials conducted a "thorough security sweep" at the school, according to a district statement on the incident.
The students who rode that bus were all questioned, and a search was conducted that included lockers and utilization of metal detectors. No weapons or ammunition was found on campus.

At this time the police have not determined the source of the bullets. The high school returned to its normal schedule and a police presence remains on campus for the day.
