
Cannon and muskets will fire as re-enactors celebrate Low Country Colonial Days atColonial Dorchester State Historic Site on Saturday, Feb. 25.
Activities include cannon and musket firing and military drills and demonstrations of blacksmithing andmedical practices, and an 18th-century Cherokee camp. The celebration is a joint venture of the S.C. State Park Service, the Colonial Dorchester Foundation, The Powder Magazine of Charleston, FortLoudon State Historic Site in Tennessee and local volunteers.
Events are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there is a fee of $5 for ages 15 and up and $1 for children.

Due to the musket fire, visitors are asked to please leave pets at home.
Colonial Dorchester is an archaeological treasure that rests on the site of Dorchester, a trading town thatflourished along the Ashley River inland from Charleston from 1697 through the Revolutionary War.
