Family Displaced after Bridges of Summerville Home Fire

Lowcountry Red Cross responded to provide assistance to family of three.

A Wednesday morning fire in Bridges of Summerville off Ladson Road has displaced a family of three, according to Lowcountry Red Cross.

The home sustained major damage due to the fire.

The Red Cross provided the family, which includes two children, shelter in a nearby hotel, financial assistance to help replace food that was lost in the fire, comfort kits containing personal hygiene items, and referrals to Red Cross partner agencies.

The Red Cross has assisted 192 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since July 1 of this year.
