Father Accused of Negligence to Face Jury

A jury will decide fate for father of a newborn fatally dismembered by the family dog in April.

ST. GEORGE — A judge ruled Friday that there was enough evidence for a jury to decide the fate of a man accused of unlawful child neglect, according to an Associated Press report.

The ruling by the judge Friday came just two days before Sunday's fatal dog attack on a toddler in Mount Pleasant.

According to the Associated Press, the attorney for McGrew, Andy Savage, said the McGrew family was being prosecuted because it was one of the "working poor families who didn't have a crib in their home."
