Four Dorchester 2 Seniors Named Semi-Finalists for National Merit
Two seniors from Ashley Ridge High, one from Fort Dorchester High and one from Summerville High make it to the semi-finals for National Merit Scholarship.

Four Dorchester County School District Two seniors have been named semi-finalists for the National Merit Scholarship.
More than 1.5 million apply for the scholarship every year. The pool is whittled down to 50,000.Â
These students have been selected as 16,000 semi-finalists in the nation:

- Sean Kamperman of Ashley Ridge High
- Elliott Mueller of Fort Dorchester High
- Ben Falter of Summerville High
According to the National Merit website, semi-finalists are the highest scoring entrants in each state. To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, semifinalists must advance to finalist standing in the competition by meeting high academic standards and all other requirements explained in the information provided to each semifinalist.
Finalists will be announced in February.Â
