Hearing Problems? Essay Contest Offers Opportunity to Win Hearing Aids

Do you or someone you know need digital hearing instruments?

Now through Oct. 31, Hearing Care of Summerville is accepting 500-word-or-less essays describing a deserving person's need for hearing aids.

"The holidays are a time of connecting with others,” Dr. Beth Alberto said. “We want to help someone enjoy all of the sounds of the season without worrying about still trying to make ends meet."

Essays should describe how an individual deserves and would benefit from new hearing instruments. Nominations will be judged by an independent panel based on the following criteria: degree of hearing loss, how the individual has overcome hearing loss, financial need and inability to acquire quality instruments, and how winning new instruments would impact his/her life.

Submissions should be mailed to Hearing Care of Summerville, 208A E. 2nd North St., Summerville S.C. 29483 and must be postmarked by Oct. 31. Nominees may be asked to provide a recent audiogram. The winner will be announced during the practice’s Patient Appreciation Day celebration on Nov. 15.
