Kitchen Fire Takes Family of Five's Home
Summerville Fire and Lowcountry Red Cross responds to Monday evening fire.

Summerville Fire and American Red Cross volunteers responded to an emergency fire call early Monday evening to assist a family of five, including two adults, two children and one infant. Â
The home at 122 Millpond Court, off Trolley Road, was damaged by a fire that originated in the kitchen, according to the Red Cross. The Red Cross provided the family with lodging in a nearby hotel and referrals to partnering Red Cross agencies.Â
Lowcountry Red Cross has assisted 201 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since July 1 of this year.
