Lights Flick on for Christmas at Hutchinson Square
Weather doesn't dampen the Christmas spirit during annual tree lighting.
Baby, it's cold outside. But the cold and rain didn't stop a dedicated crowd of Christmas lovers from attending Summerville's annual tree lighting ceremony Tuesday evening.
Mayor Bill Collins lead the crowd in a count down to the tree lighting, preceding it with a few words.
"We can't always control the weather but we can always control the spirit," Collins said, addressing the cold, drenched crowd on Hutchinson Square from the second story of town hall. "There's nothing better than the Christmas spirit in Summerville."
