Man Charged with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
St. Stephen man arrested in Summerville with 167 grams of drugs.

Summerville Police have arrested a man they say tried to outrun authorities and possessed nearly a half-pound of marijuana.
Diaquice Duval Mazyck, 20, of St. Stephen has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.Â
According to the incident report, police observed a vehicle violating the town's noise ordinance by playing loud music June 19. When police initiated a stop, the vehicle's driver allegedly did not pull over but kept driving. The report states the driver pulled into a parking lot near 110 Jedi Lane and allegedly left the vehicle on foot, running into a wooded area near the apartments.Â

Police state the suspect clutched a bag as he ran, which they allege he later tossed and they found.Â
Mazyck was apprehended when apartment bushes caught off his escape route. There an officer unholstered his Taser and ordered him to the ground, according to the report.

In the report, the officer states Mazyck said he was unemployed and had to sell drugs to make money. He allegedly said he was going to sell the 167 grams of marijuana by the ounce, and he wrote a voluntary statement.
Officers discovered this was Mazyck's fourth drug-related arrest.
