A 35-year-old Summerville man was transported to hospital early Wednesday morning after sustaining a gunshot wound off Parsons Road, according to Dorchester County Sheriff's Office.
The incident was originally reported along with a Wire Road incident here.
Witness accounts of the shooting vary, but deputies say the blood and bullet shells were found around a a vehicle near a Parsons Road residence, which had children inside at the time of the incident. However, no one was injured inside.

The incident remains under investigation.
Another shooting, but one with no injuries reported, was noted early Wednesday morning at Treehaven Apartments on Pinewood Drive. A witness reported two gunshots, and Summerville Police recovered shell casings at the location.
