Teen Mom Accused of Attempted Homicide by Child Abuse
Chevonne Deandra Younginer has an additional charge in the case where authorities accuse her of shoving cloth down her child's throat.

A Summerville teenage mother is accused of attempted homicide by child abuse after a grand jury indictment, the Post and Courier reported.
Chevonne Deandra Younginer, 18, of Summerville allegedly shoved cloth down her child's throat at MUSC, which was caught on video camera. Β The child was 6 months old at the time of the incident. The child survived and she was originally charged with child neglect.

Younginer attempted to cause the death of her child, who was 6 months old at the time, βwhile committing child abuse or neglect under circumstances manifesting in an extreme indifference to human life,β according to the indictment.
The attempted homicide by child abuse charge was filed in early December after a grand jury indictment in November.Β That charge has a sentence of 20 years to life, according to Charleston County documents.

Younginer is out on a personal recognizance bond, according to Charleston County.Β
