Planning Committee Approves Historic Site Annexation

Town will vote whether or not to annex Colonial Dorchester Historic Site.

Summerville's Planning Committee unanimously approved sending annexation of Colonial Dorchester Historic Site's three parcels to town council.Β 

The parcels are currently zoned multi-family residential within Dorchester County. .Β 

The state's Budget and Control board submitted the petition for annexation, according toΒ Director of Planning & Economic Development Madelyn Robinson. She said the endeavor began Summer 2012 from within the town's planning commission. There was no opposition voiced during the commission's public hearing, she added.Β
