Poll: Dorchester Two Referendum Moves Forward

If Dorchester County School District Two school board has its way, the district could see three new elementary schools and one new middle school pending a fall referendum, ABC News reports.

, according to an April poll of likely voters. School officials say the referendum could increase property tax bills by $84-126 per $100,000 home. 

According to Dorchester County Auditor J.J. Messervy, an owner-occupied home in the limits of Summerville currently pays $685.20 per $100,000, adjusted with property tax relief but not including fees. A non-owner-occupied home in town pays $2,095.20 per $100,000, adjusted with property tax relief but not including fees.

This week's meeting of the school board was a workshop to discuss the and capital improvements.
