Palmetto Park Home Damaged by Saturday Fire

Home received minor damage; Summerville family helped by Red Cross.

American Red Cross volunteers were called to the scene of a Summerville home fire on Saturday morning and provided assistance to a family that included three adults.Β  The Summerville Fire Department responded to the blaze which caused minor damage to the home.

The home is atΒ 124 Pawley Dr. in Palmetto Park.

The Red Cross provided the fire victims with temporary housing and funds to replace food lost in the fire, comfort kits, containing personal hygiene items, and referrals to partner agencies to assist with the family’s long-term recovery.Β  Β 

The Red Cross has assisted more than 600 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since July 1, 2012. Β
