SCDOT Turns Down Signal at Country Club
Town to invite SCDOT officials to watch intersection, hoping to change the decision.

S.C. Department of Transportation has turned down the Town of Summerville's request to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Boone Hill Road and Country Club Boulevard.
According to Town Engineer Russ Cornette, DOT made the decision based on the intersection not have enough cross traffic.
The decision was announced during Wednesday's Public Works Committee. Mayor Bill Collins said he wanted to sit down for a cup of coffee with an SCDOT official at the intersection during rush hour traffic to help the agency change its mind.
